PROTECT BODY FROM INJURY
Personal Protective Equipment
Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is protective clothing, helmets, goggles, or other garments or equipment designed to protect the wearer's body from injury or infection. The hazards addressed by the protective equipment includes physical, electrical, heat, chemicals, biohazards and airborne particulate matter.
Most PPE is provided on a personal basis but may be shared by employees, for example where it is only required for limited periods. When shared employers ensure such equipment is properly cleaned and where required, decontaminated to ensure there are no health risks to the next person using it.
